Obsession / Limerence
Are You Obsessed or Actually in Love?
Obsession often feels like love because it is emotionally loud. It takes up space, interrupts sleep, and makes ordinary life look flat by comparison.
Love can tolerate information. Obsession filters information according to whether it protects the fantasy.
A useful test: are you attached to the person as they behave, or to the version of yourself you become when they want you?

Possibility is painful because it does not have to disappoint you in practical ways.
The healing work is naming what existed, what was imagined, and what the fantasy protected.
